Live from Denver, Colorado

Tonight...Goldberg battles Nash, Sid and Hall go face to face...well, face to chest at least for the TV and US Title belts, The unstoppable Meng meets the excellence himself, Bret Hart, Sting, Benoit and Jarrett go at it and the winner gets a world title shot, plus the return of Jushin Liger. All this and more on the only wrestling promotion to offer Coca Cola commercials...

The show starts off with a 3 bell tribute to Hiro Matsuda, 1937-1999

Couple of new pyros in the show opening, with fire exploding all along the walkway, pretty neat.

Show starts immediately with the ultimate G-Man, Goldberg himself, heading to the ring. Bill grabs the stick and has a few words for the Outsiders. He says he knows they're in the back, and that he's not the kind of guy you mess with, and that tonight, they won't be entertaining the fans. He says he's here tonight to put a stop to their games. He says that if Scott Hall tries to interfere in his match with Nash tonight, he'll show him what heavy metal is about, and he has two words for Nash...YOU'RE NEXT. On cue, the Outsiders music hits and here comes Big Sexy and the man who needs two belts to hold up his shorts, Scott Hall. Hall gets the mic, treats us to a Hey Yo, and talks to Goldberg, and says they're here to provide some comedy tonight since hitting Goldberg with the chair was the funniest thing he's seen. Nash says don't sing it, bring it, and Goldberg calls them both out to the ring right now...they run down, and out comes Sid, who says there's a new babyface in town, and his name is Sid Vicious. Sid hits the ring and both men clean house on the Outsiders, until the ever competent WCW Security hits the ring and breaks it up. WCW Security, the real powers that be.

Tony announces that the matches between Goldberg/Nash, Sid/Hall, and Hart/Meng are no DQ matches that can only be won by pinfall or submission. Tony announces that Steve Williams and Jerry Only of the Misfits will fight in a steel cage, and there is a vat of mud ready for some sort of match tonight, involving the Nitro Girls. Outside, Piper's limo pulls up and he makes fun of some hefty ladies.

Backstage, Tony Marinara's hoods are on the phone with Tony, straightening out their job for tonight.

Match 1: Buff Bagwell & Booker T vs. Creative Control w/Curt Hennig
WCW Tag Title Match
If this is like any other match with Booker T in it recently, then he and Buff will lose, then get beat on after the match, till Midnight shows up and makes the save again. Decent match, Hennig gets up on the apron to interfere and while the ref is distracted, Bagwell goes for the Blockbuster, totally screws it up but the twin sells it, Bagwell covers for the pin, the ref doesn't see it, and the other twin comes in the ring, clocks Bagwell with a chair, and covers for the pin. After the match, CC beats on Buff and Booker til Midnight makes the save
Winners: Creative Control

Backstage, the Powers that be tell Juvi that if he can beat Jushin Liger tonight, he'll fix all his visa problems. Luger serves Elizabeth with a breach of contract summons regarding her conduct with Sting last week, Piper is shown waiting for the Powers that be in a separate office with a nice big comfy leather chair, and a couple of slumpbusters are sitting in the back debating which outfit they will wear tonight, the assumption being that these two earth pigs will be in the mud match tonight.

After commercial, a delivery guy is shown bringing flowers from the Maestro to Symphony. Tenay interviews Jeff Jarrett about tonight's triple threat match. JJ gets up a slapnuts bomb on Tenay before dropping Iron Mike with a guitar, after Tenay says that JJ has fallen out of favor with the Powers that be. Heenan comments with "Tenay was 67."

Brian Knobbs come out and says the thing that makes him sick is that he lost the hardcore title to a woman at Mayhem (ie Norman Smiley) Knobbs calls Normie out, and in the back, Norman is watching and says he didn't bring his gear with him tonight, when Fit Finlay walks by, scaring Norman under the table. Fit comes to the ring with a bag of tricks and sticks, and starts getting revenge on Knobbs for putting him through a table. Finlay knocks the Nasty one unconscious, and starts cutting Knobbs's hair.

Backstage, the hitmen approach Mean Gene and try to arrange a night out on the town. Gene says no at first, since he's the only interviewer left with Tenay down. The boys elaborate on what they have planned, strip club and all that, and Gene gets so excited, that he grabs them and they leave immediately, with the hitmen protesting that they have work to do. Gene, lost in daydreams of T&A, hears none of it. In the office, Creative Control is getting chewed out by the boss for getting beat down by Midnight. Hennig says that when he wrestled, no one embarrassed him and got away with it. Boss tells Hennig that tonight, he is going to have to show CC how it's done, and he has to take on Midnight in a match, and that Booker T will be barred from ringside.

After commercial, the big bad bog weasel lookalike girls are putting the finishing touches on their outfits, and Piper is still waiting in the office.

Match 2: Juventud Guerrera vs. Jushin Thunder Liger
IWGP Junior Heavyweight Match
To start the match, out comes Buzzkill, aka Brad Armstrong, who seems to have an old Van Hammer hippie gimmick. He criticizes wrestling in general, saying they should channel their anger into doing something positive. Liger looks pretty damn good in the ring, and the men trade pin attempts, with Juvi turning a pin into a backslide for a 2 and a half count. Juvi tries the Juvi driver but gets reversed, then Buzzkill goes to ringside and distracts the ref, allowing Juvi to nail Liger with a bottle of Tequila for the pin
Winner and new IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champ: Juventud Guerrera

Backstage, Chavo is filling the interviewer shoes and speaks with Dr. Death and Oklahoma. Oklahoma says that Jerry Only got himself in trouble running his mouth and tonight he'll be shut off from his Misfit friends. Doc promises that it'll be a slobberknocker. Symphony gets another delivery from the Maestro, a box of candy with a note saying that tonight she'll be the cherry on top of his cake, and elsewhere, Sid is getting really angry for his match with Scott Hall. Either that, or he's just upset that the University of Georgia, his partner's alma mater, got screwed over in their loss to Georgia Tech on Saturday.

In the strip club, Johnny, Vito, and Mean Gene are discussing various subjects, including getting Disco Inferno tonight. Backstage, Chavo says he has a home security system for sale and then interviews the Outsiders. He says that Scott Hall is defending his US Belt tonight, but when will he defend the TV belt. Hall says he doesn't understand the idea behind the TV Belt, so him and Nash play basketball with it, and Nash shoots it into a trash can, effectively retiring it.

The Revolution comes to the ring and Douglas talks about how they destroyed the Filthy Animals, and that last week they tried to set the world on fire, and that they are pissed that the fans cheered for the Canadians and booed the Revolution. Malenko grabs the mic and says pretty much the same thing, and says that tonight the Revolution is leaving the US, and declaring themselves a sovereign nation, and from now on, he is The Python, Shane Douglas is The Rattler, Asya is The Boa, and that Saturn will be...Saturn jumps in and says he is The Trouser, the most sought after snake. Hacksaw Duggan comes out with a janitor suit and a 2x4, and puts America over, ending with a "tough guy!" Duggan heads to the ring, knocking Saturn out along the way, and clocking Douglas and Malenko with the wood, but gets jumped from behind when he gets set to hit Asya. Heenan: Ladies and Gentleman, you are witnessing four people beating up a maintenance man. With Duggan knocked out, the Revolution plant the flag in his rear and strike an Iwo Jima pose, till Benoit runs out and makes the save.

Backstage, Sid makes his way to the ring, as well as the Outsiders, and the Powers that Be call for the Hot Rod. After commercial, Chavo hypes some more Amway stuff, and interviews Jerry Flynn about "The Block", which is basically the same thing as a boiler room match, and challenges anyone who wants to to a match tonight. CC and Curt fetch Piper, who says he has the craps and has to take a Vince Russo, so the powers can wait until he's done.

Match 3: Scott Hall w/Kevin Nash vs. Sid Vicious
WCW US Title Match
Nash joins the broadcast position for some commentary. Sid dominates early, Hall gets his time in, Hall goes for the Outsider's Edge, Sid slips out and nails the chokeslam, at which point Hall clocks the ref, and powerbombs him and covers. Nash runs in, drops and elbow, but Sid moves and Nash nails Hall. Sid sets Nash up for the powerbomb, Jeff Jarrett runs in and nails Sid with a guitar and pulls Hall over Sid. Ref recovers and counts the pin, Goldberg runs in, spears Jarrett and jackhammers him.
Winner: Scott Hall

Backstage, Piper is walking with Creative Control and Curt Hennig, bragging about how he's the Rowdy one and all that. Steve Williams and Oklahoma are heading to the ring, discussing the recent Oklahoma/Oklahoma State football game.

Back in the strip club, the guys are enjoying themselves, but Vito is worrying about getting the job done on Disco. In the office, Piper meets up with the powers and is told he has to ref the fat lady mud match...backstage in the cafeteria, Fyre and Storm have a disagreement that escalates into a foodfight that is making me reaaaaaaaal hungry. The superpowerful WCW security shows up and breaks it up, but one of the space donkeys that is supposed to be in the mud match swallows something the wrong way and starts choking. Juvi tries the heimlich and begs for someone to call an ambulance.

Match 4: Jerry Only vs. Steve Williams w/Oklahoma and some BBQ sauce
Doc is beating the hell out of Jerry early on, Oklahoma provides some commentary. Heenan asks OK why he always says thing three times, prompting a reply of "That's my gimmick, son." During the match, Williams looks to Oklahoma and dedicates the match to him. Vampiro and the Misfits come to ringside, jump Oklahoma, and pour all the BBQ sauce on him. Tony declares it "fit for a King." Jerry Lawler reference? While Williams is distracted, Jerry Only high tails it out of the cage and wins.
Winner: Jerry Only

Backstage, Juvi runs in and tells the Powers that the mud match is off since one of the girls choked on food. Juvi says don't worry, he did the heimlich and mouth-to-mouth. Boss is disgusted that he did mouth-to-mouth on "that wildebeest," and tells him to leave. Elsewhere, Luger is watching the monitor and says he has a plan in mind.

Y'know, I don't think Jimmy Baron is actually losing his cell phone every week, I think he's just too cheap and likes to call it all in collect on WCW's dime. That cheap bastard...

Backstage, Chavo is interviewing Bret Hart, who says that Meng might be a destroyer, but he's never been in the ring with the Excellence of Execution. Chavo then pimps some hair care products, saying the gloss of Hart's hair is due to using them.

Match 5: Meng vs. Bret Hart
WCW World Title Match
Meng is in control for a large part of the match, crowd gets a big "Let's Go Bret" chant going. Bret finally gets a comeback going, nails the elbow from the top rope, but only gets 2. Scott Hall comes to ringside, Hart tries to nail him, but knocks Meng down, who knocks the ref down in a game of human dominoes. Hart puts the Sharpshooter on Meng, Hall hits him, Hart goes outside, Hall comes in and gets the Tongan Death Grip put on until Nash makes the save with some kendo stick shots and powerbombs Meng, then both men go to work on Hart till Benoit runs out, takes the kendo stick from Hall, and lays out the Outsiders, letting Hart come in, lock the Sharpshooter back on, and the ref calls for the bell with Meng unconscious.
Winner: Bret Hart

Backstage, Symphony gets a teddy bear as her next gift, and Luger meets with the Powers about an idea he has for getting higher ratings. You know, I could be completely wrong, but the girl playing "Symphony" this week looks absolutely nothing like the former Ryan Shamrock, who was, I thought, "Symphony" last week. Or I might just need my eyes checked.

Backstage, Chavo is hyping some more stuff when Tygress shows up and tells him that if he has anything that will help her finish the job she started with Spice last week, she'll take ten. Spice shows up and gives Tygress her costume which is now cut to shreds. The two fight, with Spice tossing Tygress into the shower in the dressing room. Now that's the Spice that should have beat her last week...make sure to check out Spice's OFFICIAL homepage, only at www.prowrestle.com/spice Elsewhere, Evan and Madusa are enjoying a private moment, when she asks him for a title shot at Starrcade. Evan, who is doing it all for the nookie, agrees. Luger walks into the Power's office and says he can get Liz to wrestle in the mud match. Chavo is back interviewing Sting, when Liz shows up and tries to get Sting to save her from the mud match. Sting tells her good luck...

Match 6: Chris Benoit vs. Jeff Jarrett vs. Sting
#1 Contender Triple Threat Match
After a pretty good match, Liz runs to ringside seeking the help of Sting, who gets laid out by Package with a chair shot, and then Benoit gets nailed by Double J's guitar. Jarrett makes the cover, only to see Dustin Rhodes run in and clock JJ with the bell, allowing Benoit to make the pin
Winner: Chris Benoit

In the strip club, two girls are talking to the hitmen. One of them asks Vito if he is a natural "Baldie." Meanwhile, Mean Gene is dancing with about 10 girls, with his shirt unbuttoned and his tie around his head.

In the backstage area, Symphony sneaks up on the Maestro and promises him the night of his life. Maestro turns around and it's David Flair in disguise! Symphony starts to scream til David tells her to shut up. He asks why the piano isn't playing, and tells her to open it up. She opens it, to reveal a knocked out and gagged Maestro inside. Damn good segment

Match 7: Kevin Nash vs. Goldberg
Before Goldberg can come out, Hall flings his door open, but he's not inside. Goldberg jumps Hall from behind and is beating the fish n chips out of him until Nash shows up and they double team the new WCW icon. Sid is shown locked in his dressing room, only to knock the door off it's hinges, and all four men go to war in the backstage area. Goldberg and Nash make their way to the ring, with Sid and Hall close behind. Goldberg and Nash get in the ring, Hall and Sid go at it in front of the broadcast table. Hall nails Sid with a chair, then gets in the ring and nails Goldberg. Sid gets in, and so does Hart. Hart chases Hall off and nails Nash with a chair. Goldberg spears and Jackhammers Nash, while Hart and Sid stand guard.
Winner: Goldberg

The Rowdy Scot makes his way to the mud pit for his new role as referee.

In the back, The Outsiders are with Chavo, and Nash calls out Goldberg, Sid, Hart, and Benoit to a three team tag steel cage for the end of the show.

Match 8: Elizabeth vs. Desert Weasel lookalike beast w/Roddy Piper as refereee
Creative Control comes to to observe Piper's referee skills. Heenan says he told Tony she was a ten...a five on each side. Backstage, Luger is telling Liz she has to wrestle, and she refuses and runs off. In the mud, Piper gets beastslammed and cowslapped into the mud. Piper retaliates with a drop toe hold, and Creative Control ends up in the mud. Piper pulls the big girl on top of one of the twins and sits on her and counts the three count.
Winner: Does it really matter?

In an apartment somewhere, the Italians are cooking up some pasta for the girls they brought home from the strip club, discussing their plans to score tonight. Back at the arena, Arn Anderson is shown walking around backstage. I think he's mad about the UGA-GT game too.

Backstage, CC is getting chewed out again, when Arn Anderson busts in, chews out the boss and Curt Hennig, till Hennig runs him off. Chavo is interviewing Skye about what happened last week when Chae busts in and jumps her. Down in "The Block" The Wall meets Jerry Flynn, who promptly hits him with a few lightning feet, only to have the Wall counter before Flynn reverses it. Despite being thrown into the boiler, Flynn recovers and tosses on a armbreaker submission hold. In the background, crowd starts to boo mightily, I'm thinking they're not too happy with "The Block" Since this sad thing is taped, they can't cut it short, so the tapes rolls on and the crowd boos on, till Berlyn shows up and nails Flynn with a lead pipe. Wall gets the pipe and chases Berlyn off. Behind the curtain, Chavo catches up with Muddy Roddy Piper, who vows to fight the Powers That Be. Piper questions what Chavo is doing selling Amway. Before he can answer, the Outsiders show up and Piper slugs Nash a few times and then takes on the powerhouse WCW Security staff. Curt Hennig is shown walking to the ring when Virgil/Vincent/Curly Bill pops up and offers his help.

After commercial, Luger is in the power's office getting chewed out for not getting Liz into the mud match. Luger promises that if he has to do it himself, he'll get Liz into the mud tonight, so the boss signs a Liz-Luger mud match tonight

Match 9: Midnight vs. Curt Hennig
So much for Curt's retirement, eh? Tony announces that Piper will be the referee during the three team tag main event tonight. Hennig finally gets her in a corner and slaps her around a few times...kinda uncalled for really. Hennig hits a bodyslam and puts on an abdominal stretch, then the lights go out and when they come back on...Stevie Ray is back, who starts pounding on Hennig, prompting a DQ. The lights go out again, and Curly Bill is hammering Stevie Ray, then the lights go down one more time, and we have..Stevie and Arn Anderson going to town on Curt and Bill. Arn's lucky he's not in the NFL, because that throat-slash gesture he stole from Benoit would get him a hefty fine...
Winner: Curt Hennig

Backstage, Luger is physically ensuring that Liz gets down and dirty tonight.

In the apartment, the hitmen are serving up dinner, and the girls say before the main course...and take them to the bedroom, put them in and tie them to the bed. The girls run off and Disco and Lash show up and start dumping spaghetti, sauce, and breadsticks on the immobile Italians. Disco gets the cell phone and calls Tony Marinara and says that him and Lash found his boys first.

Back in the ring, Larry Walker of the Colorado Rockies is shown in the stands.

Match 10: Lex Luger vs. Elizabeth
Mud Match, volume 2.
Liz tries to slap Luger, who retaliates by picking her up and tossing her in. Luger starts removing his spiffy wardrobe and gets ready to hop in. Sting comes out and shoves Luger into the muddy quagmire. Sting gathers up Lex's nice suit and shoes and tosses them in the mud as well. Liz hops out of the mud into Sting's arms, while Luger sits in the mud looking as dumbfounded as Mike Holmgren after the Buccaneers whupped his Seahawks yesterday.

Behind the scenes, Hart and Benoit and Sid and Goldberg are shown making their way to the ring for the steel cage matchup

Match 11: The Outsiders vs. Bret Hart & Chris Benoit vs. Sid Vicious & Bill Goldberg
Steel Cage match w/Muddy Roddy Piper as special referee
This would be a good spot for Hart to go heel, making it a regular six man tag in the cage...let's wait and see...Since it's no DQ, all six men are in the ring simultaneously, with Piper watching on having a good old time. Slow match until Nash explodes and nails everyone except Scott Hall. Match slows down again, Benoit and Hart start to work on Sid. Sid recovers and works on Scott Hall, Goldberg beats on Nash. Hall and Sid lay each other out with a double clothespin, Goldberg and Benoit work on Nash. Jeff Jarrett rolls out a cart of goodies and tosses some guitars into the ring. First he clocks Piper with a guitar, then Goldberg with another, then he pulls handcuffs out of his shorts and clocks Hart. The Outsiders cuff Hart to the cage, Benoit chases Jarrett out of the cage. Hall's laid out, Benoit hits the top of the cage headbutt and pins Hall for the win. JJ hits Benoit with a guitar, Goldberg tosses Double J into the cage, and he's stuck between the ropes and the cage wall. Hall sneaks up from behind and hits and Outsider's Edge on Goldberg. Nash powerbombs Sid, and the Outsiders and JJ beat on everyone in the ring. Jarrett hits the Stroke on Benoit, and all three men shake hands, Nash starts to pound on Goldberg some more. Outsiders leave the ring, show ends...
Winners: Chris Benoit and Bret Hart!!!
